Today we introduce one of the Principality's most awarded and senior members of it's Defence Forces, Colonel Sir William (Bill) Speir Jr, KRO., RCH., R.H.R.A. Bill Speir was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1962. A graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Bill has lived in Alabama, Michigan, Texas, Connecticut, and Florida. He has spent most of his professional life as a Management Consultant, having worked with clients across the United States, Canada, and Europe. He has lectured on ethics and business practices on college campuses, and has lectured on Scottish History, American History, and Military History to schools, civic and historic organizations. Bill has helped incorporate a number of non-profit corporations, and has served as an officer and director of several groups including the South Central Association for Southern Re-enacting and Living History Inc., the 2nd Florida Light Artillery, and The John Pelham Historical Association. Bill has been a long-time supporter of American Civil War battlefield preservation efforts. Bill has authored a number of muzzle-loading artillery training manuals that are used by the United States Army Field Artillery Association at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. Bill resides in Orlando, Florida with his wife, Lee Anne, their two children: Sonya and Brad, and their cat, Major (a grey Maine Coon named for Major John Pelham, J. E. B. Stuart’s chief of artillery). Bill Speir has been a Management Consultant and Leader, focusing on technology solutions, organizational change, and operations for the better part of 25 years. In his various roles, Bill has had the opportunity to work in and with organizations in the Insurance & Financial Services, Human Resources, Professional Services & Consulting, Warehousing & Distribution (Automotive, Medical Supply, Wireless Communications), Field Service (Call Centre Management, Dispatching, Resource Management), Manufacturing (Automotive, Chemical, Apparel, Steel, Paper), Restaurant, PEO (Employee Leasing), and Retail industries, as well as with clients in the government and military. For the last 15 years, Bill has specialized in Business Process Management and Change Management consulting, which includes business process design and reengineering, corporate restructuring, merger and acquisition integration, organizational and job design, cultural transformation, business and HR strategy, regulatory compliance, business continuity planning, technology strategy, strategic information systems planning, and outsourcing strategy, with an emphasis on the human impact of change. Bill has worked with clients in Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, Bermuda, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Habitat for Humanity volunteer activity, Hartford, 26 November 2005 US Field Artillery Association of Ft. Sill, Oklahoma USA, an organization of the United States Army, commits to use the Royal School of Artillery training manuals for muzzle-loading, ceremonial artillery. Negotiations began 26 June 2005. Manuals were started in April 2001. 30 December 2006 Submitted updated drafts of the Unit Handbook for the 1st North American Royal Guards in 5 volumes: Overview, Uniform Code, Guard Procedures, Mess Night Manual, and Code of Justice. Submitted these to the Council of Commanding Officers and to the Commander-in-Chief. Uniform Code was approved on 15 January 2007. Handbooks were started in June 2005. 20 August 2007 Created and launched the web site for the 1st North American Royal Guards, The Royal Hutt River Artillery, and the Royal Hutt River Military College (Royal School of Artillery and Royal School of Infantry). 23 August 2008 First Course of Instruction taught by the Royal School of Artillery conducted. 1 October 2008 Production began on the first DVD produced with the United States Army Field Artillery Association Artillery School using the Royal School of Artillery training manuals for muzzle-loading, ceremonial artillery. The Royal Hutt River Artillery funded most of the production. DVD release date is scheduled for late Summer 2009.
