Prince Ian, being the eldest son of HRH Prince Leonard and HRH Princess Shirley and therefore the Crown Prince, carries quite some workload in that position though also carries the additional workload involved and necessary in his position as Prime Minister as well as of Minister of State, Economic Development and Postal Services for the Principality.
Aside from his Crown and Government responsibilities, Prince Ian is not one to be left standing idle and as such also involves himself heavily in wildflower production, with the product of this work being exported to Perth, Western Australia and from there to many points around not only Australia but overseas as well.
Prince Ian also maintains a large flock of sheep and fat lambs producing both wool and meat for export to Australia.
Prince Ian and his wife, Duchess Annette, the Duchess of Hutt have four daughters and the Duchess may usually be seen around Nain assisting Princess Shirley in matters of all sorts of concern and is also one of the members of the board of the Red Cross of Hutt.
